Telehouse, a leading provider of global data centres and managed ICT services, today announced it would house the broadcasting network for the Host Broadcaster of a major sports event in London next year. This will allow international media organisations based within the Telehouse data centre to connect to the signal and transmit unbiased live radio and television coverage to viewers across the globe.
Telehouse provides a well-connected leading content hub with seamless power provision, low latency and access to all the relevant network service providers that are required for the distribution of content. Telehouse was identified as a suitable provider due to its footprint within the media space.
With an estimated two thirds of the world’s population expected to tune into the event competitions, Telehouse will work alongside its media customers and the Host Broadcaster to ensure every moments glory is captured for all to see.
The network will be delivered to the newest data centre on the Docklands site, Telehouse West, directly from a provider based at the event site. According to Michelle Reid, Sales & Marketing Director from Telehouse, the prospect of working with the Host Broadcaster was a fantastic opportunity to be part of something special:
“We are proud that Telehouse has been awarded with this highly critical responsibility.”
Reid continued: “At Telehouse, we have been expanding our footprint in the media arena, and a large proportion of our customers conduct online broadcasting with a global reach. We are already talking to some of the world’s leading media content providers about plugging into the Host Broadcaster platform at Telehouse West.”
Activity will start on implementation early next year with customers being able to lease connectivity into Telehouse West for a select period of time, during the event.
