Zayo Europe was founded in 2012 and in 2024 separated from Zayo Group to become a standalone entity focusing on the unique demands of the European market. The company is committed to supporting critical infrastructure through innovative technology, such as multi-core and hollow-core fibres. Its expertise is in solving complex connectivity challenges.

The company became a Telehouse customer in 2006 and installed 7,000 fibre connections linking Telehouse South to the main London Docklands campus. Its tailored connectivity solutions enable telecom service providers, cloud providers, data centres, system integrators, and enterprises to deliver exceptional services.

As a Tier 1 ISP, Zayo Europe is a key partner for businesses requiring reliable, high-performance network solutions.

Prompted by the explosion of AI use among enterprises, and the increased data-processing and regulatory requirements of financial organisations, Zayo Europe sought to expand the connectivity between data centres within Europe, and between Europe, North America and the Middle East. It was also looking to grow its business and support demands coming from Spain and Italy.

But any solution must accommodate stricter data sovereignty requirements and the need for advanced cyber security measures including DDoS protection. Growing business demand for access to the Middle East and its financial markets was also a key driver. Marseille, where thousands of undersea cables come ashore, was a potential roadblock for many of these ambitions.

“We benefited significantly from the consistent and expert support of Telehouse. Both organisations are continually evolving and expanding. It is a great partnership that has delivered for many customers. If you are a Telehouse customer and want to connect with financial markets in key areas, you should look at Telehouse and Zayo Europe.”

– Matt Williams, Head of Data Centre & Managed Service Provider Sales, Zayo Europe

Zayo Europe and Telehouse overcame these challenges through a combination of outstanding collaboration and innovation. Key was Telehouse’s data centre locations in Toronto, Paris, London, Frankfurt and Marseille. Zayo Europe connected these hubs with its high-capacity fibre networks, offering speeds of up to 400 Gbps, using its extensive expertise in solving complex connectivity problems.

In Paris, Zayo Europe’s extensive fibre network connects Telehouse’s data centres to critical business and financial locations, enabling high-speed, dependable, secure data communication for advanced applications. At Telehouse’s Marseille data centre, Zayo’s new low latency connectivity provides rapid rerouting capabilities in the event of cable disruptions.

Together, Zayo Europe and Telehouse have enabled seamless, secure, and diverse connections needed for growth in vital locations. Customers navigating global markets can develop their operations and expand adoption of AI while maintaining compliance with data sovereignty requirements.

By aligning their investment and leveraging their complementary strengths, Zayo and Telehouse help their customers adapt to evolving industry needs with future-ready infrastructure.

“We benefited significantly from the consistent and expert support of Telehouse,” said Matt Williams, Head of Data Centre & Managed Service Provider Sales, Zayo Europe. “Both organisations are continually evolving and expanding. It is a great partnership that has delivered for many customers. If you are a Telehouse customer and want to connect with financial markets in key areas, you should look at Telehouse and Zayo Europe.”

The effectiveness of this collaboration has given Zayo Europe a platform for growth across Europe and Scandinavia. In Germany, for example, Zayo Europe now spans more than 3,000km of dark fibre in the region, connecting all major metros with low-latency shortcuts, including Nuremberg to Frankfurt and Frankfurt to Berlin.

Telehouse’s continued investment in facilities, such as the Telehouse South Campus at London Docklands, fits perfectly into Zayo Europe’s provision of high-capacity and low-latency connections across borders.

By aligning on innovation and customer-focused solutions, the two companies have created robust, secure and diverse connectivity perfectly adapted to the growth of AI and data processing in a world where speed and reliability of interconnection are vital.
