New York, USA – 11th
May 2015 – Telehouse, a leading global provider of data centres, international Internet exchanges, and managed IT services, announced today it has completed the upgrade to the new Centillion platform to enhance the overall value of its New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX). By upgrading to the Centillion platform, NYIIX members will experience higher capacity and a more redundant infrastructure. The Company is also experiencing high membership growth across its NYIIX and Los Angeles International Internet Exchange (LAIIX).
NYIIX continues to see a 50 percent increase in new activations since 2014 and is one of the largest peering exchanges in the Northeast. “We have seen tremendous growth and have over 150 NYIIX members as of today,” says NYIIX Founder and Telehouse VP of Internet Engineering, Operations and Business Development Akio Sugeno.
Telehouse’s West Coast peering exchange, LAIIX, will be expanding capacity in 2015 and offering special incentives to prospects and customers through Q2 of this year starting at the Chicago-based International Telecommunications Week (ITW) occurring May 10-13. “Many of our customers are either expanding or diversifying their requirements out to the West Coast; peering is a natural outgrowth of that,” says Sandra de Novellis, US Marketing Director for Telehouse.
