Telehouse Europe today launches a major upgrade to its popular VLAN Interlink IP interconnection service, extending availability not only within its London Docklands and Metro sites, but also between Telehouse’s Paris Voltaire facility.

Utilising an 802.1Q tagged VLAN, the improved Interlink service provides a Layer 2 transparent connection across and between all three Telehouse sites, allowing equipment in any Telehouse location to communicate as if it were connected to the same local switch. Because the service is Ethernet based, any IP capable device can make use of it, providing a fast, reliable connection between equipment in separate physical locations

The service also includes 24/7 network monitoring and service desk assistance, where Telehouse engineers are automatically alerted to issues via email and SMS.

As a result of the new VLAN Interlink upgrade, all Telehouse customers will shortly be able to monitor traffic statistics across their Interlinks via a new web based console (powered by Telehouse Systems Observer) This allows all customers to better monitor and plan capacity.

Systems Observer offers Telehouse Europe customers the ability to monitor not only device response time and packet loss, but a raft of other useful statistics such as CPU and memory usage, interface and volume utilisation and application availability.
